Firing Star Shells

Yesterday some questions about the firing of Star shells came up.
Firing star shells uses the attack of a complet weapon system.
What is a weapon System? All primary guns or just 1 primary Battery...the front Primarys for example.
If you are firing primarys and secondarys will it be possilble to fire a secondary SS and next the primarys which will benefit from the Starshell or will only the next ship firing profit from a SS?

A weapon system is one line on the Data-card. So your front and rear primary guns are two separate weapon systems.
The answer to your second question is yes, you can use the secondaries to fire a starshell so your primary weapon system can use it.

You might need to clarify that in the rulebook. I've been playing it wrong all this time. I thought all guns of a familiar type were all one system.

Upon rereading the relevant passages I can see that I've not been very consistent on using the term. I'll try to fix it up a bit.
