Movement in 5cm leaps

Hello, after having played a few games and re-reading the rules several times I got confused about moving - the rule book says movement has to be done in 5cm leaps. Does that mean that as a direct maneuver I cannot move 5cm, turn and then move another 1 cm?

I think you might be confused, you need to move at least 5cm before making a turn. Otherwise your movement is completely free and up to you (max movement permitting ofcourse).

So it is perfectly fine to move 7cm then turn and move another 2cm if you wish when your max move is 10cm.
