Target not in range yet when launching torpedos

Hello,

according to the rule book we have to check LoS and range before we launch a torpedo. Does that mean I cannot launch a torpedo without a target in range even though I expect it will get inside the range during the indirect compulsory movement?

Oversight. You do not need to be in range for torpedoes.

It should have been covered by this line:
"A ship can launch its torpedoes at any time since they are not specifically targeted weapons (sometimes a ship might even want to jettison its torpedoes before a long range gunfight). "
But I'll clarify it a bit more in the rulebook.
