Hello to everybody!

Today we had our first game of Naval War at our Tabletop Club Cologne meeting.
Normally, we play Victory at Sea at the club, which is a nice ruleset, but is has some oddities so that the rules don´t convince us completely.
Well, on the eternal search for the ideal rules, we found Naval War, and decided to give it a go. ;)

We played a fictional scenario off the Norwegian coast in July ´40.

As it was a learning game, some questions arose:
1.Do the order token expire at the end of a round?
Or get the player to use them in the following rounds, if they´re not used?
2.Does a flagship of the fleet generate 2 order token, because it´s also the flagship of a squadron?
3.Is premeasuring allowed? We didn´t find anything about the conventions in Naval War in the rules.
4.Can you pass orders? Meaning resume giving them after stopping and the other player went on giving orders in the turn?
5.Is it right that S-Boote have only a movement value of 5cm? This seems very slow...

Thanks,
Beelzemetz

Hello Beelzemetz, great to hear that my neighbor country also has some Naval Wargaming going on! I’m sorry for my delayed response, I’m in the middle of a career switch and that takes a sizable chunk out of my free time.

Now, to your questions:Yes, order tokens expire at the end of the turn.If a Fleet Flagship also leads a squadron of 2 or more ships as a squadron flagship it will indeed generate two tokens.Yes, premeasuring is allowedCurrently no. I have been toying with the idea several times but I don’t have enough data to know how that will effect the command station mechanics. This is incorrect and a typo, it should be 25cm

I hope you guys have enjoyed your first games. If you like to play with the more polished (but still in beta) 1.5 rules you can find the download link about halfway the 1.5 worklist thread.
