Hello all,

I'll be tracking my changes for the 1.3.7. update here.

Main rulebook:
- Scenarios; The entire scenario section is being reworked to provide for more historically plausible scenarios for the given fleet types. A scenario matrix will be provided to match up the different fleet types with their corresponding selections of scenarios. This will cause surface fleets to get a different type of scenario when facing each other than carrier fleets for instance.
- The dual purpose weapons rule was worded for a RoF 'more than 8' and 'less than 8', which leaves the question what to do with RoF 8. This is reworded to 'a DP RoF of 8 or more will increase the AA by 2'
(This will probably be irrelevant due to the changes to the AA mechanics: naval-war.com/navalforum/rules-and-regul...-to-aa-mechanics#326 )
- Changed the damage rule for carriers. Adding +1 damage for 'accurate' weapons and plunging fire has been changed to giving 'accurate' weapons a better target score vs carriers. This change is because of the changes to the scenario's, pitting carrier fleets against eachother in a different, more historical way. The damage increase proved to be very unbalancing in these matchups.
- Strafing only hits the superstructure hit locations.
- Added a mandatory 1 MD distance between ships

Ship Stats:
- Added ASW equipment to all Italian and French DD's. I found out that most sources do not bother to list the depth charge racks, but I also found sources that say that all the DD's had them.
- Added ASW equipment to HNLMS Java & HNLMS Tromp, corrected the ASW equipment on all Admiralen-class DD's to have dmg 2 instead of 1
- Added ASW equipement to S-Boats.
- Corrected a lot of ASW values to be more uniform.
- Added ASW equipment to the German Junckers JU-88, B5N Kate, B6N Jill, G4M Betty, G3M Nell and TBD Devastator.
- Reworked the secondaries of Strasbourg and Dunkerque, they had a pretty unique layout with 4 barrels able to point to the front, 10 to her broadside and 12 to her rear. I had to make some small abstractions on the statcards to achieve the same effect.
- HMS Hood had an armor upgrade from 7 to 8, however, she still retains the 'weak deck armor' trait because of her outdated scheme.
- Added 'Armored flight deck' to Taiho and HMS Illustrious
- US Battlewagons have been adjusted to include their pre-war refits, usually adding the 5"/25 DP guns
- US 4"/50 gun was missing in my arsenal. This gus was mounted on the Clemsons and some subs. This gun was not rapid-fire, nor dual-purpose.
- US 5"/25 had its AP set to 6 instead of 7, to reflect the fact that this was primarily an AA gun.
- French 6.1/50 guns had its range changed to 60cm instead of 65cm
- The Japanese 5"/40 gun gained the 'Rapid fire' special rule, I based my earlier stat on the type 88, while the type 89 (with higher rate of fire) was the type that was actually fitted to ships.
- Added secondaries to Akagi, corrected the secondaries on Kaga.

- All US Ships carrying torpedoes (except the Clemsons) now correctly carry the heavier Mark 15 Torpedo instead of the interwar mark 11/12
- Rebalanced the point values for carriers carring large caliber main armament. Considering the vulnerablility of a carrier, the use of large-caliber weapons is much diminished. Because of this I've changed the formula to discount these weapons on Carriers. Carriers affected include Kaga, Akagi, Bearn, Lexington (prewar config).

Datacards:
- Added cards for the rebuilt US Battlewagons: USS Maryland, West Virginia, Mississippi, Idaho, Pennsylvania, California and Tennessee. Most important changes includes the replacement of the secondaries by 5"/38 guns and the addition of Advanced RFC on some of the ships.

Fleet lists:
- In line with the scenario rework, I've added fleet types to all OoB fleet lists. This will specify if a list is a Battle fleet, Carrier fleet, Support fleet or a Convoy. Some fleet lists have been reshuffled a bit to be belanced for the target scenario's.

Added some more changes. I'm also working on a MS Excel app using VBA Macro's to enable players to quickly put together a printable list of ship data to be used instead of the regular data-cards.

I've found that during testing, keeping track of changes and having to reprint my data-cards more than a dozen times gets a bit annoying at some point. So I've constructed this little interface and figured that our members might enjoy having the same option instead of using the high-quality datacards.

Looks good. I'd be interested in having a go, always nice to play around with force building.
There seems to be a little hickup with the armament of the DD's in your sample? The bow guns have range 2, and the centre guns are all blank?

Well, thank you, that second one was a nasty bug to squash, both are fixed now. I'll contact you via e-mail today once I've repackaged the whole thing.

Some of the early questions I have:
- Does the fleetbuilder work when you just extract the two files in the
same folder? YES

- Do the buttons work as intended? Does the VBA functionality work at
all? (remember to enable macro's in the worksheet) YES

- Do you get an output file when you generate your fleet roster? YES, works correctly on the latest Excel version.

- Are all stats shown correctly? Mind that I've sent my current database
with the files, so all changes as listed in the 1.3.7 worklist are
worked into the database. This will result in different point values
than shown in the current OoB's for a lot of ships.
HAVE NOT CHECKED THIS AND WILL HAVE TO DOWN LOAD THE NAVYPEDIA TO VERIFY AND WILL DO SO TODAY.
- Are the security settings working on the Database file? You should not
be able to access any sheet in there exept for the first description
sheet. YES, COULD NOT GET THROUGH SECURITY TO VERIFY THE DATA IS CORRECT IN THE OUTPUT SHEETS

If you have any feedback or suggestions about the layout of the roster
(I just can't seem to get that NOT to look like its made in Excel :(),
or any suggestions about the Fleetbuilder interface, that is very much
appreciated.
I WOULD LIKE TO CREATE A WW1 DATBASE AS WELL

Great! Don't bother checking the correctness of the stats with the Navypedia, I meant to ask if the data shown on the roster is the data that you would expect, ie. ranges where ranges would be, torpedoes where torpedoes would be, name, nationality, etc.

So far so good then, let's see how the others have fared. Thanks for testing!
